@Batman2814 Hi! Does the issue reproduce every time you update the AdGuard app?
Yes, it does.
@Batman2814 Could you clarify the reproduction steps?
Prerequisites
- AdGuard VPN is connected to location
- Protection is enabled in AdGuard for Android application
- Both apps are running in the integrated mode
- New update is available for AdGuard for Android
Steps
- Open the AdGuard for Android application
- Click the update button on the Home tab -> Install update
- Wait for the update to be installed
- Launch AdGuard for Android
- Open AdGuard VPN
Result: Protection is enabled in the AdGuard for Android application, AdGuard VPN is in the connecting...
state
Yes, correct.
So the issue is still there, but with AdGuard VPN for Android being updated 2 times since I created this report, it has improved about 50% by what I mean is when updating AdGuard Adblocker Nightly when AdGuard VPN for Android is connected after that AdGuard Adblocker Nighlty is done updating I open up AdGuard VPN for Android where it doesn't say connected but says connecting I even wait a bit to see if it will eventually go to connected but it doesn't but If I connected to a different server it brings it back to connected while it says connecting. Before when clicking on a different server while it says connecting the previous version wasn't doing that. So I would definitely say that progress is being made but still needs to be addressed in future a date.
I get this when Updating AdGuard for Android Adblocker when opening AdGuard VPN for Android. It should go back to connected when AdGuard For Android Adblocker is done updating.
@Batman2814 Hi! We have tried to reproduce this problem multiple times, but unfortunately to no avail. We have also examined the logs from your device, and it says that AdGuard VPN is connected eventually.
Have you tried reproducing this issue on a different network?
Please also clarify if this issue is relevant for the AdGuard VPN 2.6 version.
I've been having this also, & is 1 of my motivations for #252.
@TPS @Batman2814 Please test with AdGuard 4.3.1 and AdGuard VPN 2.7 release versions. Do you have the VPN configuration for AdGuard VPN in the system settings? Settings -> Network & Internet -> VPN
@Versty
Please test with AdGuard 4.3.1 and AdGuard VPN 2.7 release versions.
I need to wait for next AG update to test, right?
Do you have the VPN configuration for AdGuard VPN in the system settings? Settings -> Network & Internet -> VPN
It's not there.
I need to wait for the next update to AdGuard Adblocker for Android.
I have Adgaurd Adblocker configuration added. Not Adgaurd VPN configuration. But it is set correctly.
When the next update to AdGuard Adblocker is out, should I turn on debug logs on when updating to the new version to get the logs to you guys.
@Versty I've now had several updates in the last few days to AG v4.4n8 w/ AGVPN v2.7. They still exhibit the same problem.
Since AGVPN v2.8n1, it seems to regularly (but not always) stay disconnected after AG successfully updates its filterlists w/ an error something like "Can't connect to selected server." It won't reconnect manually for quite some time, & when it does, it'll often attempt to connect to a random (least ping?) server, not the 1 connected before (#425?).
I didn't have this issue for the 1st time when updating to AG v4.4n12. Can you confirm, @Batman2814?
But it reappeared w/ AG v4.4v15. Maybe previous success was just a fluke?…
@TPS @Batman2814 Thanks to your explanations, we have found a way to reproduce this issue. Will be improved in future version.
Has there been any update to this?
~~Ever since updating to AGa v4.4n24 through n26, Integrated mode is completely broken w/ AGVPNa v2.8n1. The only way I can connect to any site via any app is to disable Integrated mode entirely. I also can't send any logs in that version of AGa (always fails, no matter what I try) & I don't know whether attempting logs in AGVPNa would be useful.~~
The problem w/ blocked connection is finally fixed in AGa v4.4n28. Now gotta wait for next update to check whether main issue is fixed.
This is still broken as of every update since AGVPNa v2.8n1 & AGa v4.4n29.
