Verbose logging is inconsistent after switching from standalone to mas and vice-versa

Steps to reproduce

1. Install the release version
2. Enable verbose logging
3. Open example.org and check the browser console
4. You'll see messages from the "Advanced Blocking" extension
5. Install the beta version (overwrite the existing release version)
6. Run it
7. You'll see that "verbose logging" is disabled in the settings
8. Open example.org again and examine the browser console

Expected result

No messages from "Advanced Blocking" in the console

Actual result

It still prints log to the browser console
