Why display: inline-block as default?

Just curious why _sprite.scss includes display: inline-block? I've commented that out so that I can allow the container to determine that or explicitly set that in the selector.

because i usually use an tag for icons - mostly because of the shortness - i wanted it to be inline-block or block by default, it is totally fine to comment it out. maybe we should add an option to set the default (including not setting it at all)
