Resource Groups are deprecated

Open MichielDeMey opened this issue 9 years ago • 4 comments

Hi, I noticed that this module makes use of the Resource Group object defined in the ast format.

I'd just like to point out that they are now deprecated and will soon disappear from the spec altogether. They've been replaced by the category element.

See https://github.com/apiaryio/api-blueprint-ast#resource-group-object for more information.

Is this something that's currently on the development roadmap?

@MichielDeMey this sort of update will probably come once we have a newer version of protagonist.

Generally with specification updates we pretty much follow what is implemented in the protagonist library. My understanding is that we are ok for now as there will be a transition period in the new Blueprint API spec.

I'll leave this issue open as it is still relevant :+1:

Will update this issue once any work has started and been completed on the catgegory element.

This is an old issue I know.

I would just like to point out that the current specification of 1A still uses resource groups.

See https://apiblueprint.org/documentation/specification.html

This is really in contradiction to what the ast is listing.

Oh I just noticed @MichielDeMey in the api-blueprint-ast at the very top

As of 2015-12-02 the API Blueprint AST is deprecated and should not be used for new development. The API Blueprint AST has been superseded by API Description Refract Namespace.

Yeah. They deprecated it recently anyway. :)
