Krita freeze with ComfyUI at first, then it works normally
When comfy is running, Krita now freezes after a few seconds after start (you can do everything for a few seconds but then freeze), but it works again after the freeze, which takes about 1 minute. At least it still works.
So, I had the latest Krita AI plugin version 1.36.1 with Krita 5.2.2 (a 2024 version) that went smooth. Then I installed the latest Krita version 5.2.11, which had no problems at first. The next day, Krita didn't respond. I start Comfy first, then Krita. Krita works normally without Comfy.
I tried a few things: reduced my lora folder by 340 GB, updated Comfy and plugins, disabled some plugins (uninstall didn't work), fixed one minor Comfy warning message, restored Krita defaults settings, tried older Krita AI versions and tried older Krita Versions, reduced my style files to 34 and deleted the previews of past projects in Krita. And i renamed the style files, since they kept getting longer with -1-4-2-1-1-1-1-1 and so on.
I got RTX 4090, driver 576.88, 64 GB RAM, Win 10. Checkpoints folder is at 389 GB, lora folder at 354 GB, Comfy and models are on the same SSD. Krita AI plugin version 1.36.1 with Krita 5.2.2 are the current versions.
Any idea how to fix the freeze at start up? Is there somewhere a temp file for Krita, that I maybe have to delete? I dunno... Many thanks for your help in advance.
I don't have a good idea and never seen this happen. In case you haven't solved it, check the files in the "user data" folder (see folder locations) and possibly move/delete it. Keep in mind this has your settings and styles, so maybe just back it up and try a clean run.
Also want to report this is happening on my laptop install of Krita when connecting to a remote ComfyUI server. Krita hangs for about a minute or two before becoming responsive again. Hang as in Windows will ask if I want to close the software due to it being unresponsive. If I launch Krita on my laptop while the ComfyUI server is shut down, Krita opens and doesn't hang at all, so I would assume it has something to do with the remote connection initializing.
Running Krita local with the remote ComfyUI server (localhost) does not hang Krita.
im getting this on Windows 10, full fresh reinstall krita and acly diffusion of inbuilt ai local via tool, and new krita i deleated anything left. new install runs then just full freezing of pc audio keeps playing, not all the time just after while, all hardware passes tests, games are fine, graphics seem affected when it happens as task manager trys to open but doesn't load correctly, have to hard restart, only happens just running AI in krita after updating it all. is there meant to be two python.exe running different locations seems odd. i don't know if just trimming and something else happened but odd,
update on mine, so chat gpt is great do need so understanding to use it, but i asked it to help me regarding my issue the freezing etc, AI load is intense and has killed my drive basically well not killed but its too much for the NAND so i get freezing and issues and sometimes windows hickups due to the pause in NAND while running AI, it ha me run pip codes to update everything to my GPU correct cudnn etc also needed to move to cache the AI uses from the C:\Users\me.cache to a mechanical drive only have HDD other than the windows drive, with cache moved it fraction slower maybe 6 seconds longer but smoother running. note no longer have two pythons also fixed a lot it seems.

Krita freeze on Windows 10
the fixes i did have not resolved the issue, i still get it freezing with stutter where iv been able to close krita with ai and system goes almost back to normal with Explorer lag, i even got new ssd with winows 10 and still doing it, thought was just me, all hardware fine passing stress tests mem tests etc etc. I'm glade to read another with the issue. maybe Windows 10 issue with this? also 2 pythons are back, the plugin doesn't allow me to not have its version not installed but it uses the full installed python while the one it installed runs but seems inactive.
