Mutable Grids in fvdb

What happened to mutable grids in fvdb? I see they were removed in May but there is still documentation up explaining how to use them.

I was hoping to make use of them, is there an alternative now?

We've recently moved our fulltime development over to https://github.com/openvdb/fvdb-core and so I copied this issue over there. Do you mind if I close this and we continue the discussion over there?
