Container for EXR and Inter-frame compression?

I was wondering if there is a container for EXR that can hold an image sequence, so that it allow's Inter-frame Compression. That would be helpful if files are served on a cloud service.

There have been proposals for various containers, or extension to container formats, but none that are in any sort of active development or use within the community that I am aware of besides a folder on disk :)

I see, so it actually would make sense to have them on folder on disk but non-compressed to get advantage of the hard-drive level compression.
