Just wanted to say I'm pretty happy to see some progress being made on this! If you need any assistance let me know. I'm definitely not a regular Java guy though. Also wanted to pass along a link to https://github.com/googlecast/CastCompanionLibrary-android which looks like it could be helpful for this. Also wondering if you have a general idea on timeframe.

Thank you very much! Part of my problem is: I'm not too deep into Android development anymore and the way the support libraries are used is just confusing and odd to me, so I'm banging my head against a wall of weird issues right now.
For instance: I can't figure out how to properly setup the v7-appcompat and v7-mediarouter so that it doesn't blow up on runtime (sic!) and it's really time consuming to get atop of those moving parts..
Thanks for the link to the CastCompanionLibrary - that may be helpful, but it exposes exactly the problems I have with the other libraries, too. To quote their Readme:

Ha, I got stalled the other day at that stupid spot to! Glad I wasn't the only one yelling at a GitHub repo. I started the attempt but my setup is quite out of date and started throwing lots of errors. I'll be attempting that part again within the next couple of days and will report back if I get anywhere.
The problem is: It isn't any better when you're doing the actual Android project - unless you go with Eclipse or Android Studio. But if you just quickly wanna fire up a shell and do the "ant" dance, you're kinda screwed. And that pisses me off...

Hey i just got a chromecast are you still developing this? Im a Javascript/nodejs developer
@psypersky Have a look at https://github.com/acidhax/cordova-chromecast/ - that is much more advanced, tho I get crashes with it at the moment. But I'd rather contribute there than rebuilding this for the sake of rebuilding..
