Yes please. One of the reasons is that this makes it a lot easier to file bug reports on the extension's repo, as I can point to a specific version having the problem.

Extra credit would be to allow me to "update" to any arbitrary revision in order to figure out where a bug was introduced. But I think that's out of scope for this issue.
