X/Y/Z plot now saves sub grids if opts.grid_save and honors draw_legend

my fault these weren't properly implemented when I converted it to XYZ.

X/Y/Z plot now saves sub grids, if opts.grid_save is set and there is more than one sub grid.

Only draws legend on z_grid if draw_legend is set.

Refactors some code from grids to sub_grids.

Closes #7320
