USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service - SNOTEL sites - SOAP API
From the 2025 SAIL/SPLASH/SOS workshop, there is a desire to explore the spatial distribution of precipitation within the East River watershed. Along with the three individual campaigns, the USDA's National Water and Climate Center has SNOTEL sites located within the basin providing daily snow water equivalent (SWE), air temperature, and streamflow observations.
The National Water and Climate Center provides two API services to access this data across the mountain west, including data from the Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) project. SCAN stations monitor and report soil moisture, soil temperature, and other climate data at over 200 sites across the U.S.
