As far as I know, nobody maintains this package anymore indeed.

I'm the last commiter, but that doesn't mean I'm the maintainer so please don't ping me.

The community can fork it, and eventually contact APSL to obtain upstream repo ownership (I can't help, I'm not in touch with them in any way)
