Please see dotnet/runtime#1442 for more information. This issue is just a place holder as a reference on this status, the Path variable is really important and safety is important. In the meantime, all the issues there will be handled by WinPath alone.

A possible solution could be to refuse to run WinPath if a 32-bit application runs on a 64-bit.
