Proximity sensor active mode issue

Open lvalladares opened this issue 10 years ago • 5 comments

The proximity sensor should put the screen on when is "unblocked" (i dont know what term use) and put the screen of when it is blocked for some seconds.

The issue i've found is the proximity sensor doesnt put the screen off when is "blocked", its easy to test, just put the screen on (for example with the lock button of your device) and the block the proximity sensor with your finger, you will see that nothing happen, and the phone just goes off if the time passes.

Update: I've also noticed taht the sensor its too sensitive since the last update, before you have to block the sensor for about 3 seconds, now seems like only with a single pass (sometimes accidentally) it turns on your screen.

Hmm... That could happen because of "Double wave to wake" feature. Unfortunately I'm not at home now and can't check those constants.

Also maybe the speed that you need to make the double wave could be changed, at least for me is very unnatural to wave so slow to turn on the phone, but thats just an opinnion

Double wake time is very device specific thing. Technically you can swipe as fast as your device device can handle (not slower than 1 seconds per proximity state change)

I usually use it to have the screen turn on when I take it out of my pocket, but it's a little slow for that. (maybe just my device?)
