If the user hasn't explicitly given a `--hostname` and no configuration exists for their host, we should try `default`. Maybe allow opting out of per-host configuration entirely.
It would be nice if we were compatible with `home-manager` modules.

We should document the Nix library functions. Maybe even documentation generation, is there a good Nix docgen program?
We should have integration tests.
I don't think there's any way to validate these without merging them?
