Microphone array mezzanine

Regarding discussion on microphone array vs i2s mezzanine started here: https://github.com/96boards/mezzanine-community/issues/64

I have been thinking about a microphone array with respect to the i2s mezzanine schematics I have provided. I believe that I was mistaken in the understanding that pcm1865 may not be suitable for a microphone array. As per the pcm1865 datasheet page 73, my design could be expanded to also include an array of up to 8 microphones (6 while maintaining a play-to-speakers stereo stream, or 4 while running a 4-channel playback stream) by adding a second pcm1865 and running everything in TDM mode.

I'm looking for feedback on this;

1. does this seem right?
2. Should I proceed with this addition to the schematic?
3. what should the microphone array look like? Analog/digital mics? Connected directly to the board or pluggable?
4. anything else?
