This is a great idea. Few points I would like to add to the idea;

  1. it should be stackable, since this would lend itself very well to combination with other boards. Being stackable, connectors need to be accessible out the side of the board. I would favor connectors pointing out the side OPPOSITE the HDMI connector on the SBC, since this is an "internal" interface.

  2. it would be nice to implement a few of the more common connectors such as 2x15@2mm header, and 30 pin FPC.

  3. it would be helpful to implement a PWM backlight control. There are quite a number of i2c PWM controllers available that could be used.
