I am having this exact same problem on my Asus Chromebox 3 and Asus Chromebox 4 after updating to version 1.70.0 through the Google Play Store.

I had the same issue. I followed the upgrade log but still had issues. I ended up starting over. Not ideal... Next time I'll wait a month before changing versions....
