TLS assumes SRTP
Hey Telephone Devs,
Got an OSX user, after some testing it looks like when the signalling is set to TLS then Telephone assumes SRTP is also supported. This isn't always going to be true, but it's a good assumption.
Could this be a toggle-able option if TLS is enabled?
Why would you want to encrypt only the signalling and leave the audiostream unencrypted though? Imho that doesn't make much sense.
Depends on the environment. TLS Signalling can bypass SIP ALG and other crimes network engineers deploy. So if that's the objective then the extra load of SRTP might not be part of that use case.
While I agree using SIP ALG should be an actual crime the extra overhead of SRTP is neglectable imo.
