Hi,

Telephone has support for Google Contacts but what about Google Apps global Directory? Is it possible to implement?

Greetings,

Derrick

Telephone uses the standard macOS Address Book API to access your contacts. I've never tried it but you can probably sync global contacts with your Mac to make them also accessible from Telephone.

Global contacts are synced but they are not accessible from Telephone. Did some searching and apparently someone asked a similar question on reddit

After further research, I stumbled upon Apple Doc

It appears that it is not possible, even though Address Book (Contacts) can do so.

You can only search the user’s local Address Book database, not remote directories such as CardDAV or Exchange.

The question remains how to workaround this, usage of private methods, implement LDAP or Google Contacts support in Telephone or a way to actually sync remote directories !/?

To be honest, there’s so much stuff in higher priority to be done, so that I wouldn’t expect it to come in the foreseeable future.

I might be able to implement LDAP support, but to be honest, I don’t know if I’ll have the time to do so in the foreseeable future. I’ll keep you informed.
