@TheLostLambda Maybe some sort of message bus/event listener could help (and maybe even remove the need for the timeout and logging)?

@TheLostLambda I meant something more generic, that can send/receive serializable objects that can be used to pass any data that it may need (other than `ModeInfo`, `Vec` and `Key`)
