Extend documentation of demo installation

Open nuest opened this issue 11 years ago • 2 comments

Our demo installation of the timeseries API is running on http://sensorweb.demo.52north.org/ but it is not listed on the landing page. There should be

  • a short description of the deployment set-up
  • a link to the API endpoint

so that users understand the several components installed on the demo server if they want to create a similar setup.

Well, that REST API available on sensorweb.demo is shipped by the SensorWebClient (demo, code) and exposes the RESTful API via its SPI implementation module.

Do you think it makes sense to create a demo page for this? The whole architecture descriptions usually are kept in the 52°North Sensor Web Wiki, especially under

  • https://wiki.52north.org/bin/view/SensorWeb/SensorWebClient and
  • https://wiki.52north.org/bin/view/SensorWeb/SensorWebClientRESTInterface

I would think that at most it would make sense to link from the actual demo page to that wiki/architecture descriptions. @nuest, what do you thinkg?

Yes, a link to the wiki is fine. But I would still suggest to explicitly list the REST API in the list of deployed services, even if it was deployed as part of SensorWebClient.
