Payments and Profile part of the API for an app

Open amanjeev opened this issue 12 years ago • 4 comments

I wanted to build an app using 500px's API. The system would basically allow you to donate a percentage of your earnings on 500px to charities or non-profits of your choice (photog's choice). Some of the features include -

  • Allow photographers to donate a part of or all of their earnings
  • Have a list of non-profits to donate and directly connect with those non-profits
  • Identify legitimate philanthropes in the community and award the a Donator Badge so that buyers can be assured
  • Choose and divide the donations across choice of non-profits or maybe have buyers choose their non-profits to donate to at the time of purchases

However, the Payments and the Profile updates are not in the API yet (or so I think). What does the community of developers+Photographers+Philanthropes think about this?

Here is my conversation on Twitter with Andrey https://twitter.com/Tochilin/status/377889584354693120

Also, my blog post about it - http://amanjeev.com/blog/photography-and-charity/

PS: I do not have the appropriate rights to label this issue so will the mods please help.

I second this request, especially with the new marketplace coming soon.

In addition to that, build into the api some way for a third party app to display what the product will look like (e.g. frame images, mat images, or some preview image).

Thank you for your suggestion! We'll take a look at what we can do, but there's no plan to implement this as of yet.
