Reddit User Does Not Exist
Would it be possible for Ripme to detect if a Reddit user is no longer a user? If it is possible, could Ripme let the end user know by a popup message or something?
How does one change from an user to no longer one ?
If they delete their account.
In which case, assuming it can be detected from the target page, the msgbox should ask if one wants to continue regardless of it. It's probly for that very reason someone would rip a deleted user.
I would want to continue a rip. So a message box asking to continue wouldn't be the greatest way. Perhaps an output after the rip is over, in the log at the end? A user that has been deleted: https://www.reddit.com/user/jewdank
Maybe not the greatest, but what about them who don't know someone was deleted and don't want a deleted's stuff ? An msgbox for just that ain't much asked, it's wrong thing to be offended over.
If you rip a lot of things, how are you to know that you are ripping something that doesn't exist anymore? This is why I would like to have something implemented in Ripme.
Exactly my point.
Gotcha. I might have misunderstood you.
What would you expect would happen when a user is deleted? Just nothing gets downloaded? You just want an error so you know about it? I think it might just fail to rip at present. You want something explicit?
