Highlight the active box only works if you don't click in an input field, the box consists of 95% input fields. The resultet is mostly the wrong box is highlighted.

Highlight the box is not necessary. The cursor and the line indicate what is active. Even if box highlight would work, then the line and text selection are no longer visible(with dark theme). It's useless and annoying. (like the search result highlighting) Undo or add a toggle in advanced preferences🙏

+ Often when I want to write a variable value, the input field loses focus after the first letter! So that shortcuts are executed and I have to click in again.

We are discussing it in https://github.com/4ian/GDevelop/issues/4048

Regarding the first one, we might need a little redesign and it should not be hard to change.
