This seems related to the way AP handles the msp calls. Have you looked into the code of the [4way-interface implementation](https://github.com/ArduPilot/ardupilot/blob/master/libraries/AP_BLHeli/AP_BLHeli.cpp) in AP?

Do "options.. enable Log", do a connect and switch to "log" tab.

The change was after 32.8.1.2/1.0.3.2. I guess something around heartbeat-timer usage, which changed, or the switch to a newer IDE version. I will need a little time to generate some...
