Telegram: Uncaptioned images come without nickname

I have bridged Whatsapp, Telegram and IRC. When someone sends an uncaptioned image to the Whatsapp group, it comes out without no indication about sender nickname in Telegram. On IRC, it displays correctly, with the sender nickname and the link to the picture on media server.
