Chrome plugin brings Chrome to a crawl and spikes up CPU when on Twitter
I was observing that recently my Twitter experience had vastly deteriorated when it came to typing a post: typing from the keyboard was extremely slow and non-responsive and my CPU kept spiking. Since this wasn't happening on incognito, I started disabling my plugins one by one and this one was the culprit.
Sorry I don't have any more debugging details at the moment, just casual observation.
Env: Chrome 67 on mac OS El Capitan.
Hi @aloukissas thanks for the report
Can you go into the extension and toggle "Twitter Badges" to off, then refresh Twitter and check to see if that fixes it - I want to be sure it's something in the worker logic that's causing it. I don't have a Mac to test on this unfortunately - I'm trying to arrange a VM build though
I plan to release a performance update to EAL today/early tomorrow for Chrome which might help.
I don't have a Mac to test this on, but my friend who is running 10.13 Sierra isn't running into the same issues (this isn't me saying to update your OS, but saying I cannot replicate).
I'll keep the issue open and see if I can get my hands on a Mac to properly test and patch.
