raycast object placement on 3d map tile

As a user placing objects in a 3DStreet scene with geolocation enabled and using 3D map tiles (default geolocation option) I would like placed objects to automatically be placed at the 3d tile ground. Likely the best method for that is a simple raycaster against the 3d tiles mesh. There exists examples of how to do that with this nasa ames 3d map tiles library.
