Is there a way for this to work without having to install evolution directly?
Could you elaborate a bit? What do you want to achieve without Evolution? Making it work with another app, or something else?
Making it work with another app. Gnome Contacts, specifically. It can work with gnome contacts if the address book is created through evolution first. I just wished there was a helper script or GUI that could create the Decsync address book without needing evolution, so that Gnome Contacts can use it
It looks like it indeed works with just Gnome Contacts. I wasn't sure whether refreshing would work, but it looks like it does. I will look at making an install script.
Sorry for the late response, but I have now added a script that will add the collections (evolution-decsync-add-collections.sh). Unfortunately, for now it cannot take the right name, so it takes the collection id instead (the color does work!). But at least it is a start.
