Camera changing direction

Open Ithilion opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

I've noticed the camera keeps changing direction by itself while using the fps unlocker. This happens every 20-30 seconds or so, and when it happens the character turns suddenly to another direction. Any idea why it's causing this issue?

do you mind recoding a vid or a gif?

I experience this too. Here's a video of me deliberately inducing it. https://streamable.com/sche6v It happens when I manually change camera direction in normal gameplay but I can produce it more frequently by rapidly changing directions in a row. It suddenly jerks to one side and it happens 1-2 times a minute in normal gameplay (exploring Enkanomiya). With my testing without the program, the camera direction changes were less frequent to about once a minute minimum. I also saw that it didn't turn my camera 90 degrees every time and maybe went 30 degrees. Unsure what is causing this but it seems to be a problem in the stock game and the program maybe exacerbates it?

Pretty sure this is a performance problem. I had this without the unlocker and more with the unlocker. When your CPU reaches the limit, this can happen. Bad coding or bad unity engine implementation.

Problem with the game client itself due to bad GC in the build of Unity it uses.

Been happening since launch; gets worse at higher framerates.

When the game stutters (looks like a quarter of second freeze) it amplifies some internal calculations done during this time. If you move your mouse, camera will then rotate very fast when it unfreezes. Also, with Albedo's Solar Isotoma, if you jump before it reaches its max height and it freezes at this exact moment, you'll end up skyrocketing to Celestia.

I had this temporary camera speed boost as well. Actually it is not that annoying and it's not happening at all when i switch to controller. I'm running a quad core CPU, but it loads at 100% very, very rare and only with lower resolutions. Usually at 50-70% load. Maybe those flicks are the reason of 120 FPS option removal on release.
