Before submitting a problem please check the troubleshooting section https://docs.openmqttgateway.com/upload/troubleshoot.html

Describe the bug When in an managed AP environment (Extreme Networks AP3xyz, need to check), when multiple APs are visible, OMG will not reliably connect to any.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Power up OMG
  2. Lights are on, nobody's home :/ - despite seeing multipe APs, OMG will not connect in some cases

Expected behavior OMG will connect to AP with strongest signal

Additional context

  • in omg_ap_noconnect_3.txt, OMG device was disconnected from power for a some seconds, which may explain auth errors

  • all logs are recorded from the same OMG device at the same location

  • MAC filtering is active on the managed WiFi, MAC of OMG devices is on whitelist

  • Running on ESP32-C3 mini boards w/ framework-arduinoespressif32 @ 3.20007.0 (2.0.7) & toolchain-riscv32-esp @ 8.4.0+2021r2-patch5

  • see also #2070 (note: that ticket was made with a different setup, non managed WiFi APs but may point to a similar direction)
