[NEEDS DESIGN] Honeycomb referral: create link, receive & view rewards

Open lkngtn opened this issue 3 years ago • 1 comments

As a Honeycomb farms user, I want to create a referral link to share with the cryptoverse, so that I can receive COMB referral rewards from degens staking in the farms after visiting from my link.

As a Honeycomb farms referrer, I want to receive referral rewards to my wallet address whenever referred users unstake their LP, so that I can passively accumulate COMB rewards for publicizing Honeycomb

As a Honeycomb farms referrer, I want to see how much COMB I have received from referral rewards, so that I can understand the value of promoting the Honeycomb farms

The honeycomb farming contracts support a "referral" reward feature that is currently not being used but has a lot of potential. From a contract perspective, when someone deposits they can pass a referrer address, which will then generate referral rewards proportional to the value of deposits they referred.

In order to make use of this function, we need to be able to generate a link to the farming page with a referral address parameter, that will be used when people deposit from that that page. This will allow people who want to promote the farms to get a kickback if they referrer people with their address. The honeycomb dapp would take the url parameter and use that as the referral.

Additionally, we should use the tulip colony address as the default referrer in the event a user deposits without passing a referrer in the URL. This way the tulip colony will start earning referral rewards as people use the honeycomb dapp, We can use these as runway for future development or improvement, making the swarm more self-sufficient and less dependent on periodic common pool proposals.

Referral link support will be a useful marketing tool, and could be especially helpful when promoting the launch of honeyswap on polygon, as it would give people a nice incentive create videos/blog posts supporting the launch.
