This is a known issue: "Notepads does not work well with large files; the file size limit is set to 1MB for now. I will add large file support later." The root of the problem is that there is a platform limitation. Hopefully will be addressed this year by the WinUI team.

It's been a year, and Notepads still doesn't support editing files larger than 1MB.
