New notifications disappear way too quickly

LTN now shows messages not just in the text console but also with an alert icon. However, most of the time the alert icons disappear before I have any chance to even see what they are about -- and unlike the text chat, I don't think there is a way to show previous alerts. Once they are gone, they are gone.
I feel like alerts should be shown for at least 10s, preferably longer, to give players a chance to read and understand them.

Alert duration is hard coded to 10s. Mods can only refresh alerts every 10s to show them longer.
That is strange, I usually do not have a problem getting the biter attack notifications. But maybe it's because they contain much less information? You just click them and are done. With the LTN notifications, sometimes it complains about 5 trains a once, and there is just no way to read that fast enough until the notification disappears.
(It also keeps saying that trains did not pick up enough, no idea why it thinks that. As far as I can see, the train got all the resources it expected. It wouldn't have left the station otherwise...)
