For neovim-exclusive features, would you be willing to accept PRs w/ Lua?
This is more of just a general question, I'm wondering if you would be willing to add some of the features in Lua for max performance (particularly for things like the virtual text).
I think we could do some stuff for the virtual text w/ Lua only that could run much more often (at least on cursorhold, probably on insertleave, maybe even with listening to buf changed events + debouncing or something).
Just a few thoughts I had while experimenting with the plugin today.
I've never done Lua before I am not sure I can maintain but if it is a one time feature and does not require that much maintenance and it will bring great performance then I would accept. But the question before adding a new thing is: Can we make it that fast using defaults?
