@andre-fuchs I tried replicating this on a more recent version of Wagtail and could not reproduce this. Do (or did) you have `WAGTAIL_I18N_ENABLED = True` in your settings?

I believe this was fixed. Version 1.0 displays the live button when editing a translated page

@benjaoming have you seen https://www.cnc.io/en/blog/wagtailtrans-to-wagtail-localize-migration ? While not directly modeltranslation, it should hopefully provide a good starting point on the process.

Sounds like this is a documentation task
