What happened?
I use 1Password on my M3 Mac, and I'm a regular Firefox user. 1Password has an extension for Firefox that integrates with the 1Password desktop app for Mac through the Integrate this extension with the 1Password desktop app setting. In Firefox, it works fine, and I'm able to log in with Touch ID in Firefox:
In Zen, I get an issue trying to connect:
The impact of this is minimal. Basically, I just have to log in to 1Password using my password instead of Touch ID.

I have an M3 Mac, works fine for me. Did you add Zen to be allowed to be used in 1password settings on the browser section?
Yep, you're absolutely right. User error. Thank you for showing me that setting!
Similar error, but in my case it seems to be a firefox version issue. I've got Zen listed in 1password settings, and the extension works, but every fresh launch, I have to click the 1password icon in the extensions menu and put in my password with this prompt: You're asked to re-enter your password because Firefox has an update available.
I'm guessing it's because Zen's underlying firefox version is lagging behind the latest release, which 1password's extension probably flags for security reasons.
I'm a little worried this is going to be a chronic limitation of firefox forks unless 1password accommodates zen specifically, which would be a bummer for ux.
Is there a solution for this on Linux, there is no section to "Connect to additional browsers".

https://support.1password.com/connect-1password-browser-app/?linux%20active#appendix-add-additional-trusted-browsers Basically if you create a file at /etc/1password/custom_allowed_browsers and write in zen-bin then it should work. It won't show in the additional browsers section but the browser extension should show that it's integrated.
On Windows it also does not intergrate with the 1Password Desktop app
A relevant 1password Windows discussion here: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/zen-browser--windows/30272
It seems something may need to be done on the 1Password side to allow Zen browser to connect to the desktop app on Windows..
Although I can technically use 1Password, the constant re-typing of my passphrase kills me.
"You're asked to re-enter your passphrase because Firefox has an update available" -- is patently false and it appears every time I open a new Zen process. I know this is likely not Zen Browser's fault, but it's immensely annoying and doesn't happen with vanilla Firefox (which works as long as the vault is unlocked when the process starts).
https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/issues/8469#issuecomment-2896734656 this might fix it
Thank you for the pointer, @theoneand33. In my case (MacOS user), I've already added Zen to the list of trusted browsers and the problem still manifests. I'm assuming it's an issue in the 1Password extension; I just wish I knew what the issue was!
Ill move this issue into https://github.com/zen-browser/desktop/issues/8469, please keep the convo there if you still have issues
