Can reproduce on
1.11.1b (Firefox 137.0) (aarch64)

When I try to toggle browser.preferences.experimental.hidden to false, it automatically turns back on when I open the settings page
Having the same problem.
I have the same problem. It appears on Firefox 137 on Win11 as well
i do the same thing & change it to (false) value but when click on setting there we see the firefox labs option flashing and disappear & when we go in config the value automatically change to (true)
. The value is not safe as (false) and the default value is (true) with the return back arrow icon in the last
until this is solved, for those looking for the auto picture-in-picture feature when switching away from tabs, set:
media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.enable-when-switching-tabs.enabled to true in about:config

media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.enable-when-switching-tabs.enabledto true inabout:config
Thanks! This worked

Hm, apparently to have firefox labs enabled you need to have metric uploads also enabled...
Hi, @gavink97. I'm Dosu, and I'm helping the desktop team manage their backlog. I'm marking this issue as stale.
Issue Summary:
- The issue involves the missing Firefox Labs (Experimental) settings tab in Zen Browser version 1.11.1b on macOS - aarch64.
- Multiple users, including @ThatXliner and @KenzKD, confirmed the issue across different platforms.
- The
browser.preferences.experimental.hiddensetting reverts to true when accessing the settings page. - @Propheticus provided a workaround for enabling auto picture-in-picture via
about:config. - @mauro-balades suggested enabling metric uploads might be necessary to access Firefox Labs.
Next Steps:
- Please let me know if this issue is still relevant to the latest version of the desktop repository by commenting here.
- If there is no further activity, this issue will be automatically closed in 7 days.
Thank you for your understanding and contribution!
why is this closed as not planned?
The dosubot automatically closes issues as 'not planned' after some time the issues become stale. Also, The Firefox Labs panel will be missing if telemetry has been disabled and it is disabled by default on Zen.
If you want to use experimental features through Firefox Labs, you must allow telemetry data to be sent, including technical and interaction data, and permit Mozilla to automatically enroll your browser to experimental feature tests, during which additional telemetry data about that specific feature will be collected.
It requires you to enable the following preferences:
datareporting.healthreport.uploadEnabled
app.shield.optoutstudies.enabled
Which are locked and disabled by default.
1 week is a short time for declaring that an issue is stale and does not occur anymore
Also as a workaround (given above), just setting other config options allows you to use those experimental features, although not with the best interface.

There had not been activity since 22 April. The bot started the staleness check a full month later, 23 May.

The simple fact is they're Firefox experimental features. Enabling the Labs section also mandates the sending of telemetry/logging. Something Zen advertises not to do which is important to some.

Yes but no, you actually can't change locked settings, so this issue not have an workaround at all
