What happened?

the tab switcher is moving to the position of the mouse before the mouse is moved. if my mouse is in the middle of the screen, the tab switcher will jump to that position(3-4 tabs) instead of one tab.

the position of the mouse should only register if the mouse is moved. not before

It is 100% still relevant

(And replicable on Linux as well, for the record. It's platform agnostic.)

Leblayd avatar May 13 '25 16:05 Leblayd

@Leblayd strange, I can't reproduce. When holding my mouse still it does not go to the tab that is shown under it in the switcher, only when I move the mouse it selects.

Propheticus avatar May 13 '25 22:05 Propheticus

It doesn't seem to do it on windows, but reproducible 100% of the time on my macbook

Perchycs avatar May 14 '25 11:05 Perchycs

Ok, so Linux and Mac it is. Not quite agnostic, but Unix-like OS specific. I'll set to to-do, since Mauro has been fixing a lot of these small but annoying quirks lately.

I can confirm it works on Windows and broken on the other two—and thank you

im on mac. and i still have the problem. i also dont use an external mouse. you can see my mouse in the original video

mr-e7ro7 avatar Aug 09 '25 07:08 mr-e7ro7

I think the issue is only on Mac, and like @mr-e7ro7 I also have it when using the trackpad.

I tested with an external mouse and still have the issue.

This issue can be reproduced in Firefox and is likely an issue on their end. Please report to bugzilla as necessary instead.

I found this suggestion request on the firefox forums for anyone who wants to report. CTRL + TAB preview should ignore mouse pointer location unless moved
