Description
In Zed 0.183.11, my friend and I are experiencing a chipmunk robot voice tone when either one of us is using our Bose 700 Headphones. The problem goes away if we switch the mic from the Bose Headset to the built-in Mac Mic. I did not have this problem when using my Apple Airpods Gen 1.
He is using Mac OS Sonoma 14.6.1 I am on Mac OS Sequoia 15.4.1 We are both using Zed 0.183.11 We both have Bose 700 Headphones

The same thing is happening to me! I know it must be Zed because I don't have this issue in other voice apps like Zoom.

This worked great before, but around a month ago I also have been getting the "chipmunk" sound, for lack of a better term.
- Using my Airpod Pro 2 (note, bluetooth!) does have the chipmunk sound
- Switching to my Mac's built in speakers does not have the chipmunk sound
- Switching to the built in speakers in my wired LG monitor does not have the chipmunk sound
No amount of switching between mac built in and airpods as the speaker output seems to help. It reliably reproduces for me every time.
I also tried muting and unmuting myself, and others, and nothing helps
Maybe related? Would certainly fit the time frame IMO:

I have updated to Sequoia 15.4.1 (24E263) and the issue went away for me. Since the original poster was also on Sequoia I wonder if there was some kind of weirdness that got reset after a major OS update rather than the major OS update actually fixing it (though their colleague was on Sonoma, so who knows. It would be interesting to know if it replicates if their colleague updates to Sequoia too)
I believe this has been fixed and can no longer reproduce. If you are still still experiencing this with a recent Zed and macOS release please comment below with your details and I'm happy to reopen.
