PIP not available as an option

Hi I'm using fully updated (Android 12) Chromecast 4K and the latest v18.15 STN Beta. When I open Settings>General>Background Playback I see only options to enable audio only background playback, nothing related to PiP. Supposedly the reason is that Chromecast does not support PiP (which makes no sense to block it, thanks Google). Could the PiP have an additional implementation as an overlay?
