Option to hide Windows-like title bar buttons

Open Ojd2000 opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

I'm using a Window Manager on Linux, and I find really frustrating to see those three window control buttons (close, maximize and minimize) in the top left corner. Moreover, only the close button works for my configuration, so I have two nothing-doing buttons.

I'd simply like a setting to toggle them on and off, in order for Fluent Reader to become more flexible, depending on the system it is run on.

Because of the non-working buttons issue, maybe for some systems it would be better (and easier) to disable them completely.

I think this aspect should be really considered, since those three buttons in some sense "should not belong" to the client, at least from a wm prospective.

Thank you

Besides that windows control would look alien next to programs that use native title bars, there's a usability issue with the current approach, as the user might have every other program have the windows control on the left, but as far as I can see, there's no option to move them in fluent reader.

Any updates on this?

Hello, I've fixed the issues the people from https://github.com/yang991178/fluent-reader/issues/268 and https://github.com/yang991178/fluent-reader/issues/333 had.

This is probably very hacky, as I can't code and have never done anything in electron before (and it's in the middle of the night and I have not used an IDE), but it works for me and I have also attached the AppImage.
