Hardware acceleration
Can I use my GPU using this OS on the Vita on ur Linux, I want to run some 3d graphics on your linux.
In reality, driver support is a huge issue when it comes to the gpu. So getting hardware acceleration to work on linux will be near to impossible.
Yeah, but is work in progress for it or something?
Unfortunately, Imagination Technologies has only open-sourced the drivers for PowerVR Rogue GPUs (both Kernel and Mesa components) and PowerVR Series 1. They have not released open-source drivers for the PowerVR Series5XT (SGX) GPU used in the PSVita. https://forums.imgtec.com/t/open-source-older-gpus/3425/5
Edit: Actually, there seems to be work on upstreaming a kernel driver for the Series5: https://github.com/openpvrsgx-devgroup/linux_openpvrsgx
Nice
btw in vita-headers there is a gpues4.h header what is it good for ?
Btw someone https://github.com/GrapheneCt/PVR_PSP2 got opengl run on psvita alongside other things
