I haven't tested it vladdoster, let me test it over the next few days/week and I will close it for you.

I had the same issue: I resolved it by putting the property drawer in the **target** of a `file+head` template ([see my config](https://github.com/xbc5/emacs-notes/blob/05f98c42ea957a7cbeaf1bffea1d6d656bc8a977/conf/org-roam.el#L30)).

I'd happily do this, but only if they're accepting PRs. I know they moved to a "stable" state earlier this year, so I am not sure if they will accept...

IIRC that using a filter fn speeds it up considerably.
