[Bug] [MauiCompat] How to install MauiCompat?

What is the current instruction for installing Maui compat xamarin toolkit? What I've found are old Microsoft news that are outdated. This nuget is also outdated: https://www.nuget.org/packages/Xamarin.CommunityToolkit.MauiCompat/ 2.0.2 preview , while newest xamarin toolkit is 2.0.5. 2.0.4 is the one that gives maui ga compatibility.

I really need this compat version for specific stuff that is not in the new toolkit like touch effect native animation, which I use on basically everything. And I don't know how to install it. Please help anyone who successfully installed it. I tried - https://github.com/xamarin/XamarinCommunityToolkit/blob/main/MauiCompatSteps.md but it gives me fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git

MauiCompat is only compatible with .NET 6. The package didn't have any feature updates, that is why was not updated. There are no plans to add .NET 7 support
