Saving images and sharing images from gallery not possible
Describe the bug When trying to save pictures, I briefly read "Picture saved", but the picture is not actually saved.
When sharing pictures via wire, pictures are not shared.
To Reproduce Sharing from apps not possible. After share via->Wire->choosing contact -> sending, I get the brief message "sending", but the message does not appear in the chat and it is not sent.
Smartphone (please complete the following information):
- Wire version that exhibits the issue: 3.61.965
- Last Wire version that did not exhibit the issue (if applicable): unsure, but used to work a couple of weeks ago
- Android OS version used to run Wire: Android 9
- Is this a custom firmware or a stock one: /e/ OS
- Mobile phone model/manufacturer: FP2
- Mobile network type (EDGE/LTE/Wi-Fi/Offline): Wifi and LTE
I'm using version 3.61.965.
I can't reproduce the issue about saving pictures not really saving them. I found mine in /storage/emulated/0/Pictures/Wire Images. I tried both sketches and sending then saving a screenshot. In the first case it saved an image in that path with a prefix "sketch_", while in the second case it saved an image in the same path with a prefix "camera_preview_". This also applies to received pictures.
I can reproduce the issue about sharing pictures not working. It behaves exactly as @Christian-Git01 said.
I'm using Android 10 (EMUI 10, Huawei P40 Lite 5G)

I agree. I can also reproduce on Android 7.

Same problem, with version 3.61 and Android 7. Now, with 3.62, the sharing problem is solved, but not the "saving images" one. In reality, I discovered today that Wire is effectively saving the images, but in another place, into the /android directory. This folder is not indexed by gallery apps, so you can't find pictures when you open the gallery. You have to manually add this folder to the app gallery, if possible. But it is, however, a problem to remember when you have to backup your pictures.
Is it possible to change again this folder? Using again a subdirectory of /pictures, or /dcim ?

I can duplicate this. It's saving into /android/data/com.wire/files/pictures/wire images/.
I'm guessing they did this for privacy reasons, but there should at least be a user setting to set the directory (#2649).
I can confirm this, too. I also cannot save video files. They are saved to the Downloads folder, but even VLC can't play them. When moving to another folder the filesize is 0KB.
