Looking at ways to publish/build kindle file:

pandoc (seems to have trouble changing latex -> html and/or markdown and/or epub) kindlegen (silently fails on some epubs)

amazon website has option to upload pdf to publish, so they might have other tools?

set up tex4ht in a sage project so you can set it up on unix
