Expected behavior
if it is "Built with Rust for speed" Shouldn't it be 1/2 to 1 seconds faster then the terminal?

No
Is this an issue only in Warp?
Yes, I confirmed that this only happens in Warp, not other terminals.

After the last update I've noticed a considerable lag. On of the worst offenders is that when I "cd", the prompt that shows me what working directory I'm in take anywhere from half second to a second and a half to update. Also, pressing return seems to get slow.
This seems most obvious if I've been using Warp all day long.
I find it laggy when I try to enlarge it on my vertical monitor. Maybe due to rendering issue?
Noticing this myself after the recent update. I could've sworn it had progressively gotten slow, but the most recent update made it unusable.
UPDATE: it was slow to type every time I opened it. Like if I was backspacing it would slowly make its way back and stop occasionally along the way. This behavior wasn't happening in any other apps and was noticed after a system restart and then a warp update.
If I opened neovim inside it then the typing in neovim, and an integrated terminal inside neovim, was fine. Kitty also had no issues. I was opening two tabs when I launched the app because it closed when I had two open. Nothing was running in the tabs. Anyway, I closed one of the two and the speed issues fixed. Despite multiple app restarts, in the end all I needed was to close a tab? I don't get it. If I open a tab now I don't have any speed issues. It's really weird.
I also have problem with general slowness. Running on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS with i7-9850H and 32GB RAM. Below example of scrolling slowness and lagging:

And for comparison there is Terminator:

Slowness is present at every step, even during typing...
Currently running on v0.2025.02.19.08.02.stable_05
Chiming in with general slowness of Macbook Pro. I've been periodically revisiting Warp specifically for this issue. Last time was a couple of months back.
Slow typing is a full stop no go for me. Can't stand it when my hands are several keys ahead of my eyes.
I also have a bad experience. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS, 64GB ram, 7800X3D and 4070TI Super. Selecting text with the mouse is terrible, Warp freezes and I have to wait usually 5-10 seconds. When it comes back it's a laggy mess. Also if Warp generates a plan and I try to read it, Warp freezes when I scroll around the plan "window"

I've stopped using Warp. I couldn't stand that it's constantly taking up so much CPU, even though I've done literally nothing in the terminal. Also, since I spend a lot of time ssh'd into other terminals, I hate that I can't change the background color. So, it's back to iTerm for me.
my grandmother is literally dead and moves faster then warp
It's infuriating -- Warp had so much potential. I was recommending it to everyone when it first came out and I started using it. Now it's just bogged down with AI features that I barely use. It also drives me nuts that Warp will constantly cause my Mac's fan to spin, even if nothing inside Warp is running. A single tab, sitting at the shell prompt? That's a spinning.
Also, there's no damn colored terminals. Warp started losing me when I would switch to iTerm in order to ssh into another computer. Eventually I realized the only feature of Warp I was really using was the inline editing, which is a great feature, but not great enough to makeup for Warp's other flaws.
