There doesn't seem to be this symbol for a 'Shake' in the Baroque ornaments section.

A modern publication (2009) has represented it thus:

I'd suggest like a Pincé, but without the vertical stroke.

I'm working on a design for the glyph, which you can have!

I have definitely seen this symbol in various English Baroque publications and would be in support of adding it.

Compare #210. Purcell used a different symbol for the shake, but they definitely mean the same. I see two possibilities:

  • add this shake as stylistic alternate to ornamentShakePurcell
  • add both shake symbols as stylistic alternates to classic ornamentTrill (U+E566)
